Alan Ewing - CEO

Alan has over 20 years of experience in the design, deployment and operation of product and application certification systems in the mobile telecommunications and consumer electronics industries. He has worked in the both the certification test lab and standardization realms. Alan is well respected among mobile telecom vendors, service providers and among industry association representatives. He represented Nokia within Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), Cellular Telecom and Internet Association (CTIA), Wi-Fi Alliance, 3GPP Certification for North America (PTCRB), WiMax Forum, GSM-Americas and CDMA Certification Forum (CCF). He has held numerous officer positions within these organizations including serving as Executive Director and President of CCC. 

Alan holds a Master’s of Science in Physics from the University of Tennessee.

Ed Pichon - Chief Technologist

Ed has 15 years of combined experience in engineering, test engineering and military systems engineering, with expertise in writing requirements and test specifications. He currently serves as the Certification Body for the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) and the Car Connectivity Consortium’s (CCC) Application Certification program. In addition to those roles, he also works for the CCC as a Program Manager for the development of certification test tools, support systems and developer tools. Ed is the Chief Technology Officer of E-Qualus Partners. He has a Master’s of Science in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Mitch Kettrick -  Certifications Manager

Mitch has more than 20 years of product development, testing and certification experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. Mitch is currently chairman of the CDMA Certification Forum (CCF) Steering Committee and co-chair of the Certification Ad Hoc group of the Mozilla Open Web Device Compliance Review Board Forum.  Prior to that, Mitch was the VP of Engineering at Sky Detective, a startup company that built custom tracking applications for the law enforcement industry and the Director of Product Certification and IOT at NextWave, a mid-sized startup company in the WiMAX industry.  Mitch was a founding member of the CCF where he spent two years as a member of the Board of Directors. He was also the chairman of the CCF Certification Working Group. Mitch spent more than 7 years at Nokia Mobile Phones working on several product development programs. Mitch holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Gonzaga University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Mindy Ewing - Operations Manager

​Mindy serves as E-Qualus Partners Operations Manager and provides the team with administrative support.  She also serves as our Comptroller and as one of the key contacts between E-Qualus and our clients.  She has over 10 years experience in administrative support, customer support and executive assistant roles in both the insurance and test laboratory industries.  She has 5 years experience working with a web development team and over 4 years in technical editing.  Drawing on her innate organizational skills she is well versed in event planning, web design tools, M/S Office and Quickbooks.

Jörg Brakensiek -  System Architect

Jörg has over 15 years as a leading technology architect and researcher for Nokia and Microsoft. Among his current roles he serves as chairman of the Technical Workgroup of the Car Connectivity Consortium since its formation in March 2011.  He also holds the role of Lead Editor, Main Contributor and Chief Architect of all technical specifications for MirrorLink(TM) (formerly known as Terminal Mode).
While at Nokia and Microsoft Jörg worked as a Principle Architect and Standardization Director for Automotive.  His well deserved reputation as a leading figure in the telecommunications and automotive technology sectors has been earned through hard work and creative problem solving.

Jörg received his Dr.-Ing in Electrical Engineering from the TU Dortmund University.

Ismail MOhamud -  Specification Development Specialist

Ismail has over 17 years of experience as an EMC test specialist, product validation engineer, test manager, and IPR manager with Nokia and Chrysler. Ismail is a U.S. Patent Agent with a solid track record of patent portfolio development, prosecution and IP asset monetization. Ismail is an experienced entrepreneur and is well-versed in the complexities of international business. His most recent engagements have been in test specification development for the Bluetooth SIG as part of their Medical Working Group. Ismail's easy-going nature and attention to detail have served the organizations he has supported very well. Ismail holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Jay Merithew-  Mechanical Reliability Specialist

Jay's 30+ years of experience in laboratory testing, laboratory management and test development in mechanical reliability have given him an unparalleled level of knowledge in his field.  He has worked for Rockwell, Raytheon, Nokia and AirComm Corp during his career.  His greatest level of expertise is in mechanical vibration test systems and results analysis.  He has served as lead test engineer for both consumer electronics and aircraft environmental control and conditioning systems.  He currently provides clients with the benefits of his expertise though on site test support.  Jay served in the US Marines and holds an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology form the National Institute of Technology in Cuyahoga.

David Chapman - Standards and Test Development Specialist

​David has more than 20 years of testing, product development, project management and certification experience in the wireless telecommunication and networking industry with AT&T and its subsidiaries. Focusing on RF and audio projects; David worked in both the cellular handset groups and the U-verse in-home Wi-Fi development group. While at AT&T, David was a member of the CTIA Handset Certification Group and helped to conduct the first OTA laboratory audit based on CTIA specifications. David has also served as the chair of the CTIA Head & Hand subgroup, the chair of the CTIA Bluetooth Audio subgroup and was AT&T’s representative on the ANSI C63 Hearing Aid Compatibility standards and testing group. He also chaired ATIS Working Group (WG) 11; Volume Control and Tele-coil subcommittee. More recently, David contributed to both the Wi-Fi Alliance and CTIA CPWG on behalf of AT&T. David is a Senior Member of the IEEE and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Management from Southern Illinois University.
